Holy Week and Easter

Easter sunrise
All are welcome to join us this Holy Week and Easter at St. Luke's as we journey to the cross and feel the excitement of new life with the Good News of the resurrection.
We begin Holy Week the Sunday before Easter - Palm Sunday (April 13th at 10am) when we will have a celebration for all ages - we will be waving our palm crosses as we remember Jesus entering Jerusalem with a small procession.  There will also be a dramatised Passion Narrative.
On Holy Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (April 14th, 15th and 16th at 9pm) there will be Sung Compline including a short reflection.
On Maundy Thursday (April 17th at 7.30pm) there will be a Meal and Mass to remember the Last Supper and Jesus washing the disciples' feet.  This will be followed by a short vigil - when there will  be an opportunity to reflect quietly before the Sacrament in the 'garden'.  Please let Rev Juliet know if you are coming to our dinner to ensure we have enough food and drink.
On Good Friday we have 3 hours - please come to one, two or all three hours as works best for you.
12 noon - 1pm we have interactive stations of the cross suitable for all ages.
1pm-2pm will be an hour of silent reflection and guided meditations.
2pm-3pm will be the Good Friday Liturgy.
Very early on Easter Day at 5.30am - as we remember the women rushing to the tomb - we will gather outside around a newly lit fire.  After our Festival Mass celebration there will be a barbecue breakfast.
At 10am on Easter Day we have a Party Communion for all ages - including an Easter Egg hunt.

About St. Luke's

Sunday service

The Parish of St Luke, Eltham Park is a Church of England parish in the Diocese of Southwark in the London Borough of Greenwich.

We are an Inclusive Church where all are welcome.

We worship together on Sundays and during the week with a variety of traditional and modern styles. Children are always welcome and we have Children’s church (Sunday School) or an All Age Communion every Sunday during our 10am worship.  We also have many other opportunities for children including Bubble Church once a month, as well as occasional Forest Church and Messy Church.

Our church is open  during the week for many community and social activities - such as exercise classes, choir, craft club and our Fellowship social Group. We strive to express the love of God in a practical way.

We love diversity and we love to see new people.
We really hope that you will feel at home in the St. Luke's Church Family.
